Wes Siegrist , MAA Member since 2004 2008-2012 MAA TE Work: "Best Mates", 6.35 x 6.35 centimeters, 2½ x 2½ inches Medium: Opaque Watercolor on Clayboard Biography: Wes Siegrist holds Signature Memberships in many of the world's Miniature Art Societies as well as the prestigious Society of Animal Artists. Siegrist and his wife, Rachelle, directed their careers into miniatures full-time in 1999 after becoming enamored with the delicate art form at the MASF Exhibition. Working almost exclusively in the traditional miniature format, they participate in over 30 exhibitions annually. Wes holds a BA in both Fine and Graphic Arts and, in the last few years, has undertaken an in-depth study of the history of miniature painting - making the documentation of the current revival movement a personal project. His ambition is to further elevate miniature art in the arena of Museum Fine Art and to help preserve and promote the genre for future generations. He is the founder of the Association of Miniature Artists, the first organization to develop a standard definition for miniature art.
