Biography: Violet Temple was born in Toronto and took her art training at Northern Secondary High School. She worked as a commercial artist for ten years and in 1976 began intensive studies in porcelain painting under artists from the USA and England.

She is one of the founding members of the Ontario Porcelain Artists' Guild, serving as President in 1990.

Among her many awards are Best of Show at Del Bello Gallery, Canada 1990; Honorable Mention for the Gold Bowl Memorial Award at the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers, London, England, 1991; and Best of Show at the 2001 MASF International Show.

Pursuing what she considers her calling to promote the fine art of china painting, Violet has traveled across Canada and the USA teaching and demonstrating her talent. She conducts workshops on cruises to the Carribean, Alaska, the Panama Canal and the western Mediterranean.
