Lois Salmon Toole , MAA Member since 1992
2008-2012 MAA TE Work: "Low Tide", 5.2 x 7.8 centimeters, 2⅛ x 3⅛ inches
Medium: Transparent watercolor

Biography: Lois Salmon Toole was born and raised on the New Jersey shore and received her B.A. in fine arts/art history from Douglass College of Rutgers University.

A painter for as long as she can remember, it was in 1976, after she moved to Ohio where interest in the medium was burgeoning, that she turned exclusively to watercolor. She was introduced to the wonderful world of miniature art via Whiskey Painters of America. Though her miniatures are painted to stand on their own merit, she frequently uses them as studies for her larger work as demonstrated in two instructional books.

She has 425 juried exhibitions and 135 awards to her credit and has been elected to Signature Memberships in 17 organizations including National Watercolor Society, Allied Artists of America, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society, and American Society of Marine Artists. Her work is featured in 11 publications and she is listed in Who's Who in American Art.
