Colleen Parker , MAA Member since 1992 2008-2012 MAA TE Work: "Autumn On the Farm", 5.6 x 7.3 centimeters, 2¼ x 2⅞ inches Medium: Biography: Colleen Parker describes herself as an artistic 'perpetual explorer'. Always seeking new forms of expression, she pushes her experiments to the limit. Perhaps she is best known for pastel over monotype, a unique approach she has developed which combines abstract and representational art. She was featured in the July, 1988 issue of The Artist's Magazine where this technique was discussed. Colleen began her art education while growing up in Springville, the 'Art City' of Utah. Formal training was at Brigham Young University, Iowa State University, Chicago Art Institute and various workshops with such artists as Albert Handell and Daniel Green, noted pastelists.
